Co-Ed Softball

Well, we have decided to play co-ed softball. And when I mean “we,” I mean that the office decided and I chose to join in. Practice was yesterday and I am still feeling the effects of the running around, hitting balls with the bat and catching fly balls. But, it seems that we have some pretty good talent on our Ad Kickers team.

Mind you, though, I have not hit a ball in years. I haven’t played softball since my early days in Junior High, and it very well could have been earlier than that. However, I surprised myself with being able to hit about 80% or more of the good pitches. Now, that is progress!

We did a lot of sprinting around catching balls and chasing after them, too. But, you know? I had a great time. This is the first time in years that I have played any sports, especially the ones with balls that bounce or get hit by an aluminum stick.  I’m usually the one that will be running down the road or walking with weights in my hands. So far, we have a great team that has some great potential.

So, all-in-all, I’m looking forward to this new chapter in my life… Co-Ed Softball. And, for those of you who know – Yes, my shoulder is still attached. No problems. Yet.
